Real Deal Furnitures Limited aims to offer fair and competitive prices on new furniture. If a customer finds the same new item advertised for a lower price by an eligible New Zealand retailer, we may beat that price by 9%, subject to this Price Promise Policy.
This Price Promise Policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions, Shipping & Delivery Policy, and Return & Exchange Policy.
How to Claim Our Price Promise
Customers can request a Price Promise before purchasing by visiting us in-store or by emailing sales@realdealfurnitures.co.nz.
To make a request, the customer must provide clear proof of the competitor’s lower price. This may include a current website link, written quote, screenshot, advertisement, or other evidence accepted by Real Deal Furnitures.
The proof must clearly show the competitor’s business name, item details, price, date, stock availability, and any terms or conditions attached to the competitor’s offer.
Real Deal Furnitures may check the competitor’s website, contact the competitor, request more information, or decline the request if the price, item, stock status, or offer conditions cannot be verified.
All Price Promise requests must be reviewed and approved by Real Deal Furnitures before the discounted price applies.
How Our Price Promise Works
If a customer finds the same eligible new item advertised for a lower price, Real Deal Furnitures may beat the competitor’s price by 9%.
The 9% beat is calculated from the eligible competitor’s verified price, not from the difference between the prices.
For example, if an eligible competitor is selling the same item for $1000, and the Price Promise is approved, Real Deal Furnitures may offer the item for $910.
Eligible Items
The Price Promise applies to new furniture only.
The item must be the same or directly comparable, including brand, model, size, colour, material, condition, features, and specifications.
The competitor’s item must be brand new, in stock, available for immediate purchase, and available to the general public.
The competitor’s item must be sold by a genuine New Zealand retail business with a physical store and an active New Zealand website.
The competitor’s price must be publicly listed on the retailer’s website or official advertisement and must be current at the time the Price Promise request is made.
Excluded Items and Offers
The Price Promise does not apply to pre-loved furniture, second-hand items, clearance items, damaged items, floor stock, display stock, supplier seconds, discontinued items, auction items, marketplace-only listings, private sales, Trade Me private sellers, Facebook Marketplace sellers, overseas retailers, liquidation sales, closing down sales, wholesale pricing, staff pricing, member-only pricing, trade pricing, bundle deals, package deals, finance-only offers, coupon-only pricing, cashback offers, loyalty points, free gifts, pricing errors, or limited quantity offers.
The Price Promise also does not apply where the competitor’s item is out of stock, not available for immediate purchase, not available in New Zealand, not sold by a genuine retailer, or cannot be reasonably verified by Real Deal Furnitures.
Delivery, Fees, and Total Price
When assessing a Price Promise request, Real Deal Furnitures may consider the total cost to the customer, including the item price, delivery fees, assembly fees, service fees, card fees, and any other mandatory charges.
If the competitor’s lower price is only available with extra fees, conditions, or delivery charges, those costs may be included when comparing the price.
Real Deal Furnitures is not required to match or beat a competitor’s delivery fee, free delivery offer, assembly offer, removal offer, finance offer, or any other service offer.
Before Purchase Only
The Price Promise must be requested and approved before the customer purchases from Real Deal Furnitures.
The Price Promise does not apply after purchase unless Real Deal Furnitures agrees in writing as a goodwill gesture.
The Price Promise cannot be used to claim a refund, credit, or discount after the sale has been completed unless required by law.
Approval Is Required
All Price Promise requests must be approved by Real Deal Furnitures before the discounted price applies.
Real Deal Furnitures may refuse a Price Promise request where the item, retailer, price, stock status, proof, or offer conditions do not meet this Policy.
Real Deal Furnitures may also refuse a request where the competitor’s price appears to be a pricing error, misleading, outdated, not genuinely available, below cost, or not commercially reasonable.
Combining With Other Offers
Unless Real Deal Furnitures agrees otherwise in writing, the Price Promise cannot be combined with other discounts, sale offers, coupon codes, finance promotions, delivery discounts, bundle offers, clearance pricing, layby discounts, or negotiated pricing.
If more than one offer could apply, Real Deal Furnitures may apply the offer that provides the best final approved price, but is not required to apply multiple offers together.
Layby, Finance, and WINZ Orders
Real Deal Furnitures may consider Price Promise requests for layby, finance, or WINZ orders, but approval is not guaranteed.
Any Price Promise approved for a layby, finance, or WINZ order must be approved before the order is confirmed.
Third-party finance provider terms, WINZ approval conditions, and payment provider requirements may still apply.
Right to Refuse or Withdraw a Price Promise Request
Real Deal Furnitures may refuse, withdraw, or amend a Price Promise request where the request does not meet this Policy, the competitor’s offer cannot be verified, the item is not directly comparable, the item is out of stock, the competitor’s price appears to be a pricing error, or the offer is not commercially reasonable.
Real Deal Furnitures may also refuse or withdraw a Price Promise request where there has been misuse of the Policy, false or incomplete information, suspected fraud, website error, stock issue, supplier issue, or any other reasonable issue affecting the request.
Approval of a Price Promise request is at Real Deal Furnitures’ discretion and must be confirmed before the discounted price applies.
Nothing in this Price Promise Policy limits, removes, or overrides any rights the customer may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other applicable New Zealand law.
